History

The Department of Ophthalmology, Government Medical College and hospital, Chandrapur is a prominent tertiary center for ophthalmic care in Maharashtra. Ophthalmology is no doubt a very intricate branch in itself. It involves highly sophisticated equipment. Under NPCB (National Programme for Control of Blindness), Department of ophthalmology, GMC chandrapur strives to provide quality care especially to rural and needy masses who are unable to afford such services in private sector. Department of Ophthalmology in Govt. Medical College, Chandrapur was stated in 2015 and has been rendering its services since 2015
